As the VR porn industry is gaining fast popularity, more attention is paid by porn film producers over the quality and ability of recording cameras. Moreover, one of the latest growing trends seen in the virtual reality porn industry is the live streaming feature. This helps the porn website visitors to directly interact with some hot chicks who are online and ask for some sexual favors. This offers a more personalized touch to the visitors with a feeling of closeness.
CEO’s Word
Terpon SA, a Swiss startup, is now working towards its goal of making good quality webcams and take your live streaming experience to a whole new level. Terpon CEO, Jean-Claude Artonne believes that live streaming is the next hot thing after the recent success of 3D and VR content.
Artonne says, “Recorded content in the adult entertainment industry is dead or dying because of all the free content on the web. The part of the industry that is growing is live cam. But most visitors to these sites only consume what’s free there. If you give them 3-D content, it is something different that they will pay for. Especially if you have a VR headset already, you are committed to finding some new, fun experiences online.”
Moreover, he attributes the success of major technologies to the adult porn and entertainment industry. As per him, earlier it was the VHP tapes and DVDs, and now webcams are taking the lead. He says “We don’t plan to limit ourselves to adult entertainment content creators long-term. But making a product that meets their needs is important. Having a company which is totally dedicated to this market will help us, in the future, to create something for the generalist market.”
Here is what the company tweeted while announcing its first 3D-VR high-resolution webcam for independent models.

Terpon Webcam Technology
Currently, Terpon manufactures the 3K resolution Hermes Camera and the 4K resolution Artemis Camera. Both these cameras have a face pointing towards the filmed/performing subjects. This kind of design help the performers get a more natural feeling of being gazed or watched.
Explaining the technicalities associated with the camera, the company writes, “Terpon’s 3D-VR camera features stereoscopic synchronized modules with a 200-degree field of view. The camera streams 2D or 3D video, and is plug and play via USB so it works on PC or Mac.” Terpon’s cameras are easily compatible with other webcam platforms having an API and can be used even by the performer’s site or chat application.
Pricing Strategy
Terpon’s strategy is not to sell these cameras at a fixed price, but rather make it available to buyers on rent of just $30 a month. The reason behind this policy is to make these cameras available to adult performers who have a very low earning comparatively and stay in locations like Romania and Colombia, which are supposedly the largest providers of live cam adult entertainment.
This low priced rented webcams from Terpon will help such large number of adult performers and in turn make their content available to a larger mass. To push this move, the company is said to be giving away 1000 beta-edition webcams to influential performers.
