Monster Girl Island: A Niche Game with a Lot of Heart

Variety is the spice of life. And as far as variety goes, this games offers a great amount of it barring none. After a few sessions of playing this game, you’ll be aching for more. Why? Well, if it’s not for the choice based sex sessions then I can assure you it will be the curiosity for what could possibly be next. That is, of course, if you don’t mind fucking a bunch of quirky girls. Their quirks being that they are all monster girls and that they’re all hungry for your dick! Feeling adventurous? Good. A Harem of Monster Girls

Huh, so you’ve stuck around. Curiosity draws you nearer! Time to draw the curtains and unveil the plot. Don’t worry I won’t spoil much.

You play as a bag-headed protagonist that has somehow made it into a hidden island whose population is solely composed of monster girls. After waking up on the island, wondering how you ended up there, you meet the first two characters of the story. Faranne, the dark skinned busty elf who contemplated your demise as soon as she met you, and Ara, the cute young cat girl who stood up for you. Soon after, you find out that the residents of the Faranne’s village have disappeared and that the only way you’re allowed to stay on the island is if you serve the remaining residents. With work comes rewards, and on this island, the rewards are far more sensuous than you’d expect.

Instead of being terrified and building yourself a raft and sailing your way back to civilization, you quickly realize that doing chores amidst a harem of lewd monster girls is not so bad after all and so you decide to stick around. I’ll try not to spoil your relations with the characters too much, but it doesn’t take long for your efforts to bear fruit and you quickly get to sleep with all types of lovingly quirky and often sexy oddities. As every monster girl has a different personality and physical traits, the sex scenes are always different and impressive. Whether it is Eris, the cum hungry slime girl, or Shuri, the dominating fetish friendly elf girl, you can be fairly confident that every scene is a sight to behold.

The game also has a choice based system that actually affects the game and the sex scenes. The choices differ between each girl and their corresponding scene which adds quite a bit of replayability. There are always multiple options for playing a scene out. For example, you can be an obedient lover or you can turn the tables and dominate, all through this system. It’s refreshing to see such a different approach to sex games and I commend it.

If you’ve made it this far, then the way I painted the game for you must’ve captured your interest. Maybe you’re thinking of going ahead and becoming a patron of this project. I won’t stop you as this is a promising title, but there are some slight flaws that I’d like to warn you off before you go ahead and put your money into it.

Temporarily Flawed

First off, this game is unquestionably niche and that’s kind of the point. The fetishes featured here are for those who don’t mind or prefer outlandish characters, as the characters here are heavily influenced by the monster girls anime trope. From the get go, the plot and graphics definitely carry that ‘anime gone rogue’ vibe proudly which is super cool but is surely not for everyone.  If you don’t mind that then you’re almost good to go.

Another huge issue is the game’s demo is very outdated and doesn’t do the game justice. It also doesn’t support virtual reality, forcing you to become a patron to try the experience in VR. A new demo is coming soon though, hopefully with some good virtual reality implementation to preview the feature.

The other issues here are technical. I love how the game allows for interaction in virtual reality. You can interact with the girls’ breasts, butt, and with some of the unique physical aspects that are a part of each girl. When the game works, it’s a nice touch and adds a ton to the experience. Sadly, it’s apparent that this game wasn’t made with virtual reality as a priority because the support for virtual reality here is occasionally buggy. Don’t get me wrong, it’s very playable, but there is definitely some experimenting needed on your part to figure out what’s right and what’s a bug. I thought it was only me but the comments on Patreon also support my claim. Things like not being able to select my choices in virtual reality, not being able to input my name at the beginning of the game even after a claim that the bug was fixed only to have it randomly let me in, and the very odd and annoying control scheme on the Oculus Touch stopped me from fully enjoying the experience. That being said, the controls on the Vive seem to be a lot better. Also, Redamz, the developer, offers the sex scenes independently as well so that you can avoid everything in the game besides the lewd CGI action. I found that this helped me avoid most of the problems that came with the virtual reality implementation. It’s good lewd monster girl fun.

This VR porn game is an anomaly. Considering how meticulously detailed every scene is, I am sure this game is a product of passion. As more people support the game for the virtual reality experience, in time, I hope the peculiarities of the implementation will be fixed. It’s perfectly normal for a Patreon project to be buggy.  With voice acting here and expanding soon and a roster of characters worth checking out, I finally understand the appeal of the CGI game. If this adult VR game sounds like your cup of tea then, by all means, go ahead and support it. Just let Redamz know, you’re there for the virtual reality porn experience and encourage him to improve on it. I do think a good chunk of his audience use the feature and hope to see it improved. Mostly because there is no game like this out there and even though it’s not exactly my cup of tea, I do think it deserves more.
