Last year, Facebook made headlines when they acquired VRPorn.com for 2 billion dollars. Since then, the company has been quiet about their plans for the new division.
Further, there has been skepticism about virtual reality lately as the industry has been trying to find the “killer vr app”.
But everything changed this week when Oculus announced its latest headset, the Oculus X. The Oculus X may look like your standard vr headset, but there’s a tiny button on the side that aims to revolutionize virtual reality.
Magical Button
The latest Oculus model features a VRPorn.com button built right into the headset. When pressed, the button takes the user directly to the adult virtual reality website. [Also see how to watch vr porn on Oculus Go.]
There’s nothing to download, nothing to set up. You just press the button, and it works. It’s magical.
– Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg
After extensive data collection, and millions in research, the design team concluded that the left side of the headset would be ideal since it maintains full haptic functionality with the right hand.
While the VR industry has been focusing on next generation features like high resolution displays and inside-out positional tracking, Oculus got to the point of what really drives VR adoption. Competitors have reacted to the news swiftly. Sources at HTC and Google say they are now devoting all resources towards developing their own buttons.
