Oculus Connect 6 is just around the corner and this iteration of Oculus’s annual development conference has the potential to push a number of new tech advances into the hands of consumers. Taking place at San Jose McEnery Convention Center, Oculus Connect 6 offers VR developers and creators a chance to learn from and collaborate with Oculus’s brightest minds. Lectures on the educational uses of VR, classes on using AR to bridge VR and the real world, and (no doubt) some uber exciting tech demos will soon have the tech world buzzing. While we can’t expect OC6 to include an afternoon classroom session called “Creating VR Boobs” or anything of the like, there is bound to plenty of buzz in the VR porn world too, once OC6 wraps on September 26th.

Oculus showed off a prototype unit dubbed Half Dome at Facebook’s F8 conference earlier this year and caused quite the stir. Utilizing motorized moving lenses Oculus calls “varifocal” technology, Half Dome aims to provide a 140• field of view and the ability to achieve near-perfect focal depth for any application. Say you want to pick up and read a book in a VR environment: varifocal tech allows macro-level detail to appear with hyper-realistic fluidity, something previously impossible in VR.
The ramifications of Half Dome’s tech, expected by many to be among the big reveals of OC6, in the world of VR porn are obvious. Allowing users to gaze, study, and stare at virtual objects in accelerated detail, and to adjust their focus and framing by simply moving their eyes, such advances would no doubt push creators of VR sex content to embrace more opportunities for such in-depth visual immersion. Imagine being able to really hone in on your favorite physical asset of your favorite virtual porn performer, to study and appreciate it as if it were in your very hands!
Looking Forward to Future Sex
Many tech blog trawlers and VR pundits are making their predictions about just what will be blowing minds at OC6 come September 26. Revelations from OC5 put Oculus on the path towards creating photo-realistic virtual humans, further blending real and virtual realities and haptics. Where will OC6 take us? For fans of virtual reality sex and VR users in general, all eyes will be on OC6.
