First of all, what is CM3D2?

Custom Maid 3D2 is one of those pretty awesome Japanese Hentai type games. The premise of the game is that your uncle died and left you in charge of a whorehouse filled with maids. As the new curator of the whorehouse it’s your job to “train” the maids in the art of being fucked, and level them up along the way. Different types of fucking result in different stats being raised, which results in different rewards. What does leveling get you? New outfits, more money, new positions, new titles and types of maids etc..

Your maids not only have sex with you, but they also develop a relationship with you over time, misbehave from time to time requiring punishment, perform group dances and you can even get them drunk and fuck them. You can either whore them all out, or choose to make them personal maids or even end up getting hitched to one.. If you screw up making one and decide she’s too ugly, (Or not ugly enough), there IS a way to go back in to her settings and adjust them to whatever you want. That way, you’re not stuck with a maid with down syndrome that you can’t get rid off.

If you’ve read my other posts about how great room scale porn is, you already have some idea of what to expect, but for those that are new to VR Porn, the beauty of Room-scale is that you aren’t “anchored” to one single point like you are in a video. You can get up and walk around the scene you’re in from any angle. Walk up to one of your girls, walk around them and see them from any angle. Great, so How do we Get it?

Well, fortunately for everyone, the guys over at Hongfire seem to have everything you need put together in ONE convenient list as far as patches go. For starters, the base game itself can easily be found on the internet. Of course I’m not going to mention torrent sites. E-bay sells copies of the game for about $70 imported direct from Japan. Why some versions are $400? Well, apparently this game is so popular over there that some enterprising company made a device which links with the game and translates your motion to in-game motion.. Personally, after my experience reviewing a Kiiroo Onyx, I think I’ll pass and keep to the $13 fleshlight knockoff. That thing is a lot better…

Anyways, I’ll just assume at this point you now have a legitimate copy of the game and have both dvd’s mounted inserted into your dvd drives.

Now, because you’re installing a game that’s normally in a different language and of course the button’s aren’t exactly in the most intuitive of spots I’ve made this handy little guide…

You’re going to have to click the above buttons to get the install started. The one up top allows you to set the install path, and the one in the middle actually starts the install. Once you have your copy installed, you need to update the game. As of now, the most current version is 1.43.1, The update patch can be found from Kiss’s website linked Here. Personally, I use the 64 bit version. Again, click the button in the red box in the lower right. another window will pop up like so, and click the lower right there.

You’ll notice that I start with the 1.00 to 1.12 version first. If you look in the box, you can see what files are being updated, and what version they are being updated to. That’s actually pretty nice, because there’s a TON of downloadable content from the game’s store and it’s easy to make sure you’re not overwriting anything that way. Once the first patch is done, then apply the 1.43 patch.. Both patches can be found here. Get this patch installed and then it’s on to the next step.

You can find the VR patch here.. Yes, this is a developer created VR patch for the Vive. It was released quietly, with no fanfare, and no one freaking knows about it! This company is WAY ahead of pretty much everyone else with regards to this. It’s not a mod or anything.

Now, the base game is pretty much installed, you may be tempted to check it out and see what it looks like. If you try and run it at this point, you’ll more than likely see this error message pop up..

That’s because you’re trying to run a Japanese game on an English based system. If you have windows 10, you’re going to need REIpatcher and NTLEA. If you have a previous version of windows, Applocale set to emulate Japanese works just fine. We will get to that point in a little bit, but for now, let’s finish getting the game playable before launchable.. I know, kind of ass-backwards, but you’ll see why in a minute.

Either way, you’ll want to install the Hongfire English patch next. That patch can be found right here. Now, I can’t really suggest much other than just letting the default settings do their thing. Yes, it’s going to tell you that some stuff is out of date. I tested this on my computer, and took the pics during the setup, to show that it works just fine. So, why install this patch? Can you read Japanese? Didn’t think so. English is nice to have on the controls and buttons. Not only that, but it uncensors the girls so you’re not looking at pixellated pussy… Pixellated pussy = hard to fap to. And most importantly, it installs both REIpatcher AND NTLEA, both of which are necessary to run this game on a non-japanese system.

Great!!! Game installed, Update Patches Installed, VR Installed, and HF Patch in, I’m Ready to go Right?

Wrong…

Now for the fun and potentially somewhat difficult part…

You’ll notice when you installed the game, it created a few icons on the desktop. Time to go to that icon and right click on it, then go to properties and edit the ‘Target’ line.

It needs to be changed from

X:\XXXXX\Kiss\CM3D2\reipatcher.exe -c CM3D2x64_NTLEA

to

X:\XXXXX\Kiss\CM3D2\reipatcher.exe -c CM3D2VRx64_NTLEA

What this change does is it tells REIpatcher to launch the game in VR.

Now, you need to open the directory where you installed CM3D2.

1. Make a copy of ./ReiPatcher/CM3D2x64_NTLEA.ini and name it CM3D2VRx64_NTLEA.ini

This tricks the system into thinking it’s being run in a different mode so it works with steam.

2. And now, the tricky part, you need to edit CM3D2VRx64_NTLEA.ini and add VR in front of x64

AssembliesDir=%cm3d%\CM3D2VRx64_Data\Managed

Arguments=CM3D2VRx64.exe “C932” “L0411”

You need to tell NTLEA which directory to use and which EXE to run with which modifiers. In this case, the VR version.

3. Now, you need to go into the CM3D2 folder and open the ‘Managed’ subfolder from the CM3D2x64_Data\Managed folder and copy the following files to CM3D2VRx64_Data\Managed folder. It’s a simple copy and paste.

CM3D2.ExternalSaveData.Managed.dll

CM3D2.MaidVoicePitch.Managed.dll

CM3D2.Translation.dll

ExIni.dll

UnityInjector.dll

Congratulations, You Should Now be Able to Launch the Game and See Things Like…

This is the main office area, you can view it from any angle! It’s a good place to familiarize yourself with the controls and see what you can before you grab a girl and take her out to the swimming pool so you can choke her with your dick.

Of course, sometimes something goes wrong on the install and you get the stupid yotogi error and a memory access violation. When in doubt, there are several other guides around on places like hongfire, or even youtube. A game like this is well worth the time it takes to set it up right and be able to play in VR..

Final Thoughts and Suggestions

There are several dozen mods for this game. I recommend spending some time browsing the Hongfire forums and checking them out. There’s a lot of talented people making new outfits, skin textures, backgrounds, and accessories for this game. One thing to note though, once you have the game working, you may want to “save” it by backing up the files and settings somewhere by making a copy of the entire install directory somewhere else. It can save you some serious headaches later on if you download and install a mod that just doesn’t work out, or if you try and update something and it ends up breaking your game. This will give you an easy point to restore everything from so you’re not stuck trying to re-install the game from square one.

Also, there’s a TON of store content for the game. You may want to periodically update your back up version when you get a large batch of mods installed and everything seems to be working fine. Even though this is an older game, there are still a lot of updates coming out on a fairly regular basis.

One last thing…
