Sudar Pichai, CEO of Google parent company Alphabet, earlier this month said he considers the development of AI to be more profound than the human development of fire, electricity, or the Internet. As Google lays more resources into AI development and aims toward building a “global multilateral framework” on which AI tools and processes can be utilized and shared, Pichai’s statements aim to bolster support for rampant AI growth, even as some decry its destructive potential.
“AI is probably the most important thing humanity has ever worked on.” – Sudar Pichai, CEO, Alphabet
Noting that he sees no industry or area of human experience being left untouched by AI, Pichai identified healthcare, education, and manufacturing as key adoptive industries that will propel AI use forward. This isn’t the first time Pichai has made such lofty claims about AI development. At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, in 2018, Pichai said almost the same thing.
Antagonist or Angel
In a physical context, Artificial Intelligence is unlikely to turn out a more profound creation than fire or electricity, both of which enabled humans to survive intense physical and environmental obstacles and traumas long enough to even conceive of AI.
One thing about Pichai’s bold assertion that will be of keen interest to VRPorn.com users is the extent to which AI is expected to impact (or infringe on, depending on who you ask) all areas of human life. Even luddite zealots living deep in the Black Hills of South Dakota – hell, even the voluntarily isolated Sentinelese – are likely to be impacted by AI in some fashion. Human sexuality in its near-endless forms and variance will no doubt be seen as a major opportunity for AI developers. Help people find sexual liberation and happiness, and you’re doing important (and much appreciated) work.
It Knows What You Want
You have your tastes and preferences when it comes to sex, as do we all. AI brings into view the likelihood that a future sexual encounter will not be with a flesh-and-bone person but a virtual reality creation guided by an AI with one clear purpose: satisfy you sexually. Pornography, as we know it today, will likely cease to exist in much the same way HD killed off SD, 4K killed off HD, and VR has trumped 2D entirely. The future of porn is undoubtedly tied to AI; let’s just hope those at the wheel appreciate the full variety of human sexuality and don’t attempt to corral people into a few easily marketable categories.
