Rumors and rumblings surrounding the next phase of Sony’s push into more advanced VR have been stirring for quite some time. With the release of the hotly anticipated Playstation 5 just around the corner, many PSVR fans are wondering how to keep their virtual gaming and entertainment habits going on this next-gen console. Thankfully, the solution is easy and free.

Playstation VR owners can relax and prepare to launch themselves into VR via PS5 upon its November 12th release. The original PSVR, released in October 2016, can be used for almost the entire PSVR games catalog on PS4 and PS5. Those grabbing a PS5 will need an adapter for their PSVR, but thankfully Sony has made its Playstation Camera Adapter available for free to all PSVR owners. Using an online request form, PSVR owners simply provide their device’s serial number, name, email address, and shipping address to receive the required adapter at no cost. Already available in Japan and due to ship to US customers in mid-November, this adapter is all that’s required to make the leap from PS4-run VR to the more advanced PS5 take on virtual reality.
Primed for Porn
Considering Playstation is primarily geared at gaming experiences removed from the world of porn, it’s great to see Sony quietly giving those who do watch VR porn on their Playstation a way to quickly upgrade their experience at no additional cost (once they’ve forked out for a PS5, that is).

Nobody is sure when the next iteration of PSVR (presumed to be called PSVR 2) will be unveiled outside of Sony. What does come out of Playstation HQ, in fact, seems a bit unsupportive of VR tech. CEO Jim Ryan has predicted virtual reality will take a number of years to become a “meaningful component of interactive entertainment.” With so many enthusiastic users already spending hours and hours in virtual environments, Sony may be being a little dour. VR adoption continues to rise, and VR porn viewers make up a sizable chunk of that audience. Crossover between gaming and porn audiences is no surprise these days, and it’s a relief to see Sony taking care of its existing VR fanbase, porn fans included.
