Anybody else having issues playing the Max Quality 6K on these new Puta Locura vids? For me DeoVR tries to force it to Direct Show but doesn’t actually play. The 5K version plays like normal. I don’t have issues with any other vids.
Same issue here. I contacted the support here, 7 days ago, still no answer. I tried other VR players too. The videos are using h.264 codec, which is not good and the resolution is strange too. For now, I’m using ffmpeg to encode them to h.265, like so: ffmpeg -ss 00:23:00 -i “input.mp4” -c:v hevc_nvenc -preset fast -rc vbr -b:v 100M -maxrate 200M -bufsize 400M -c:a copy output.mp4
It’s a workaround for now, but I hope VRPorn gives us another download option (optimized) of max quality videos that are compressed and encoded properly to save us all time, storage and bandwidth.
I am having similar problems with the PLAY’A app. Support got back to me right away. They are looking at the issue. This is a new studio so they will work it out. In the meantime, the 5K videos work great.
The original max-quality files come from the studios. VRP has explained this in other comment threads. The h.265 codec doesn’t work for all devices. I download these videos and play them locally.
Was that for Quest 2? Will give that codec render a shot
