Currently, when companies make full 3d computer generated adult apps or games, they have to either animate characters by hand or use expensive motion capture devices. The development of the Orion tracking system has been aided by HTC’s supportive stance towards developers. IKinema’s system utilizes the HTC Vive’s sensors to track objects and people. To do this, IKinema uses a system called reverse kinematics which focuses on key tracking points that allow software algorithms to predict the movements than the sensors themselves actually record.
Controllers to Trackers
IKinema began developing their system by using the HTC controllers themselves as trackers. With the release of the HTC Trackers which are small plastic devices that can be attached to people or objects, IKinema will not have to awkwardly attach motion controllers to track subjects anymore. New videos (above) demonstrate that the HTC Trackers are working amazingly well in place of the old controllers. In other words, the Orion middleware handles input from the HTC Trackers without requiring any controllers at all anymore.

If you are a virtual reality porn producer that is making custom 3d characters, this may be the best animation solution available. The overall cost of IKinema’s package is $500 dollars a year. This may initially sound expensive, however, when compared to traditional motion capture packages like those found in Hollywood studios, this is ridiculously cheap.
Cost
Furthermore, the overall hardware cost for the required PC components is also fairly low. Most people that have a decent virtual reality gaming setup will have all of the components necessary to get started with IKinema’s motion capture system. This means you need a fairly powerful virtual reality-ready PC. You will need an HTC Vive of course, and at least three of the HTC Trackers which currently run for $99 dollars each. All said, this means you can have a high-quality motion tracking system in your home for roughly $3000. Together, this is $1500 (cost of PC), $700 (Cost of the Vive on Sale), and $300 (HTC Tracker), a $500 license for a total of $3,000.
Best Animation Solution
If you are making your own 3D adult VR game or app, this is probably the best animation solution currently available. Any 3d artist will tell you animation is important and isn’t easy to get right. As I mentioned earlier, if you are animating sexual acts, you don’t want them looking robotic or weird. With this setup, instead of making animation by hand, or filming actors wearing weird motion capture suits, you glue HTC Trackers to the butts of your adult stars while letting the software record their movements. The recorded movements would then be applied to 3d models to provide the convincing sexy animation that turns people on rather than freaking them out!

Fft.. My POS 3d printer was $3K… This sounds like a pretty good deal if it works right. But hey, I’ve been saying for quite some time that this is the future of porn.. You’re going to buy a scene, buy animations, and then rent the likeness rights from porn stars and have them doing whatever you want them to do to you via the animations.
a total of $3000 is alot for small setups but this looks interesting and can add some new dimensions to our experience.
I think $3000 is worth it for a long term. If you’re going to use it just once then hell 3000 is a whole lot.
