Virtual Reality is undoubtedly considered to be the next big platform wherein users will be able to interact with their friends and family in-person in the form of live videos. Facebook, the big daddy of social networking and the parent owner of Oculus, has been working to make your VR spaces the hotbed for social gatherings and interactivity.
At the ongoing Facebook’s annual F8 Developer Conference, the company announced its new virtual reality chat and meetings app – Facebook Spaces – wherein you can engage with your friends and family in form of customizable cartoon-like avatar characters. Users can engage with their friends in 360 video spaces and even draw and create virtual objects using your Touch Controllers. Moreover, the Facebook Spaces App also makes use of some of the best social features of Facebook.

Facebook Spaces help you create avatars of yourself from your Facebook photos itself. Once you select your Facebook photo, the Spaces App will create several selectable options for your avatar. After selecting one of the options, you can even customize specific details of your avatars like your hairstyle, eye color, facial features besides other things which can suit your identity.
Similarly, as shown in the video above, with Facebook Spaces, you can also invite your friends to socialize and interact in real-life spaces around you. The app also allows users to relive personal memories and even create new ones, like celebrating someone’s birthday at his/her favorite place in the town.
And for all you porn lovers, this way you can certainly go together with your besties to the most happening strip club on the planet and check out hot chicks performing for you. Or hang out with your friends at the red-lights areas of your city and other parts of the world.
Bring Anyone to Socialise in Facebook Spaces
Using Facebook Spaces, you can directly call your Facebook friends on Messenger even if they don’t have a VR headset. As they pick your call up (in real), they will interact with you in the form of avatars in VR. You can then spend time chatting with them, showing them your 3D creations, and even play 360 videos.
You can even take selfies and share the same memories to your Facebook accounts. Facebook Spaces is currently in beta phase and you can expect more improvisations coming as the company receives several feedbacks from its users.
This is just a beginning but it will certainly give a new shape to the way we can socialize in VR.

Though this is a great initiative by Facebook to begin with socialising in VR, I would prefer 3D holograms of the actual characters rather than their avatars as i believe it would add more of realism… But yes i am eager to try this asap
