Meta Quest 3 hasn’t yet seen the rapid sales growth that its predecessor, Quest 2, received. As a result, Meta has unveiled a “Play now, pay later,” financing plan that it hopes will make owning a Quest 3 more affordable and accessible.
Affordable, Accessible
Launched at a price of $499 (128GB model) or $649 (512GB), Quest 3 was considered to be at the upper end of the more affordable section of the VR device market. With Apple Vision Pro launching at the comparatively lofty price of $3,499, Meta appears to have identified the admittedly slim barrier between Quest 3’s launch price and its actual affordability to the average consumer.
Meta Quest 2 is reportedly sold out, shifting Meta’s full attention to its more recent devices and forthcoming releases. Interested parties can now bring home a Quest 3 (128GB) for as little as $24.99-a-month for two years, interest-free.
For the 512GB model, purchasers will pay $34.99-a-month for the same two year period. Both plans include a two-year Quest+ gaming subscription and Meta’s Warranty Plus protection plan.
Notably, the $24.99 monthly payment plan actually delivers a solid discount from the retail price of the 128GB Quest 3, bringing the cost of the device down to $368.01 after accounting for the regular price of Quest+ and Warranty Plus. The payment plan for the 512GB does not result in a significant discount.
Thrills and Spills
While the Quest 3 device and Quest+ gaming subscription will appeal to the mainstream user, it’s the inclusion of Warranty Plus that should be of particular interest to VR porn and AR porn fans. The protection plan covers minor damage like spills and stains, and you never know just what will happen, what fluids will fly (or where they may land) when you leap into a powerful sex experience in VR or AR.
