HTC Vive owners, Oculus owners, and OpenVR headset users all generally all have to use Steam VR at some point because there is such a huge quantity of great virtual reality software on Valve’s Steam Store. Steam VR Home is the current home repository that allows users to create a virtual reality home that makes accessing virtual reality steam software easy. Steam VR Home is getting some crazy updates.
Valve is updating Steam VR Home with a huge amount of features that will make it more customizable and social. The customizability features are so powerful that users will be able to make super complex and detailed virtual reality Perv Dens that will be perfect for hanging out in between virtual reality porn browsing sessions.
Navigable 3d Environments
Currently, Steam VR Home works decently as a way to showcase and launch steam-compatible virtual reality apps. Its feature set is fairly limited. It does not feature much in terms of customizability options. Right now, you can swap in and out different 3d photo spheres but this is about it. For the most part, these photo spheres are boring and ugly and exist to serve as placeholders or simple wallpapers. Although the option exists to change these environments, I have never wanted to do so because to me they all look crappy. Also, I only use Steam VR Home to get to my games. In other words, it just serves as a bridge to the games, and a shitty looking bridge at that.

Going for something flashy, more like the Golden Gate Bridge, Valve’s new Steam VR Home blows open the customizability doors in ways that I never predicted or expected. The power and flexibility of the new Steam VR Home have so much potential for a few reasons that I will discuss in further detail. If you want to see it for yourself, you can try out the new Steam VR Home Beta now. Instructions for getting the beta are provided at the end of this blog post.
The biggest improvement is the addition of fully navigable 3d environments. As for the environments you can create, it sounds like the sky will be the limit. On these environments, Valve says, “Environments can now be higher resolution and support animation, sound, games, and interactivity. Players can teleport around and explore any of the hundreds of environments created by the community. In addition, players can customize and save their environment with props and drawings, then set it as their default home space.”
Destinations
To build virtual reality environments, users will be able to use technology first released in Steam’s Destinations app. Destinations blends photogrammetry and 3d environments. This means using new tools based on Destinations, users will be able to rapidly create super-detailed 3d environments. The new Steam VR Home also allows users to import models so that unique objects can be put into each “Home.”
Additionally, the new Steam VR Home also makes it possible to create highly customizable avatars as well. Super-dong avatars will be all the rage. This will be important as the new social features make easy for friends to visit and interact with each other in Steam VR. So you can group up with fellow VRPorn.com browsers and glorify our VR cybersex future!
How to opt into SteamVR Beta:
1) Open Steam on your desktop.
2) Find ‘SteamVR’ in your Library under ‘Tools’.
3) Right-click and go to Properties.
4) Select the Betas tab and pick SteamVR Beta from the dropdown.

oh man, I need a moment to grasp this all. Got my oculus headset just two days back and I am really struggling to put everything together and try some of the games that you featured in previous blogs.
