Now that consumers from across the globe have understood the power of Virtual Reality, and how it can offer close-to-real-life experiences, the main focus of VR headset makers is towards improvising the display panels of their VR headsets. The aim is pretty much clear about creating richer and immersive VR experiences for high-definition gaming and content viewing.
Pimax’s 8K VR Headset Display
China-based VR headset maker – Pimax – has announced the first 8K VR headset delivering 4K resolution in your each eye. The 8K resolution basically consists of two 3840 x 2160 displays giving a brilliant output result of 8.2 million pixels per eye.
This VR headset has got a similar display mounting mechanism to that of the PSVR. The two displays are oriented at a canted angle giving out an excellent 200-degree FOV.
Moreover, this VR headset comes with a similar built-in ‘Brain-warp’ technique that we have seen in the Oculus Rift. This technique involves the drivers to tell the GPU to render frames in proper sequences. This rendering involves a 4K picture for one eye followed by a 4K picture for another eye. However, with a 90Hz of high frame rate, the headset can transfer 120-240 frames per second, making your brain think that your both the eyes are looking at the same image.
Technicals and Add-Ons
Note that to stream such a high 8K resolution to your VR display, you need a similar supporting PC for it with dual GPU configuration. For this, you might require a minimum of single GTX 1080 or a GeForce GTX 1070.
This new version of Pimax VR Headset comes along with two gaming controllers, a stand and two position devices. We believe that Pimax has done a good job here by bringing the two new position devices. This will enable better room-scale and positional tracking abilities, rather than just relying on the built-in sensors as with its previous headset.
This 8K VR Headset comes with several other additional sensors like the motion sensor, magnetometer, light sensor, distance sensor and a built-in gyroscope. The pricing of the 8K VR Headset is double to that of the 4K VR headsets with $799 overall and lies in competition with the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.
Pimax’s Role for the VR Porn Industry
This new 8K resolution VR headset would certainly be a great deal for the VR Porn industry as well! Several industry players can now look forward to deliver high-resolution content that could certainly add more delight to the viewers’ VR porn-viewing experience, making it more intimate and engaging.
Not only this, its multiple built-in sensors would rather improvise the head-tracking abilities that would encourage more VR Porn games developers ( e.g. the La Douche) to come with high-definition games and room-scale player experiences.

I’m glad they’re pushing the frontiers with these high-end systems, but you can’t do much if it doesn’t also have a content ecosystem to match, not to mention an expensive computer.
