PrimaVR has made a major breakthrough in VR technology, the creation of fully-interactive hologram performers. Their new holograms have a simulated heartbeat, which one can feel via haptic feedback. Their skin gives way to touch, their breasts sway with a human nudge.
The Movie Feels You
With one’s hand or with a VR controller, using the PrimaPlayer hologram viewer and a compatible headset, a user can now feel the virtual reality movie. And this new innovation, announced at the end of 2016, represents the first time the performer in a movie feels the viewer.
At the end of 2015, PrimaVR developed holograms that allowed for haptic feedback. This meant feeling the performer via tiny vibrations on one’s bare hand or coming through a controller. Using a technology called Leap Motion, which requires the content to be shot with a compatible camera, the viewer could put his hands into the frame. In fact, he or she could also customize the hands by controlling skin color, with options such as ebony, beige, and pink.
Another amazing capability with the player (which now works with Oculus Touch and HTC Vive using SteamVR) is pausing the video and continuing to fondle the hologram as desired. In fact, it’s possible to use your penis for haptic feedback, or, for that matter, a vibrator.
This last wrinkle is an amazing piece of realism, since it allows the user to depart from the dictates of the action—in this mode, this is hardly a mere movie! The beating heart nature of these holographic actresses is also crucial to a new level of realism, providing responses to the user’s actions, an incredible level of power.
It’s the level of realism and “being there” that optimistic sci-fi mavens have predicted all along, and that has, until now, been only hinted at with immersive VR porn movies allowing room scale, etc.
Holograms Quickly Developing
The company is now working to increase the range of interactions available, pointing out that, for example, shaking hands isn’t possible, though I’ve never seen that ritual in a porn movie.
PrimaVR isn’t a producer of porn, but instead collaborates with them. Its function is the development of software and other tools for the production of hologram films of any kind. The haptic feedback could allow for medical training or diagnostics, or telepresence.
Holograms are 3D images created by light fields rather than by a lens. Hologramusa.com tells us that the technology was initially described, in 1584, as allowing us to “see things that are not.” It can now be applied to security stickers, to teach history, and to allow those mourning the death of Whitney Houston to see a virtual version of the singer on tour.
One of the promises of the technology, as applies to virtual reality porn, is the ability to customize the actor or actress one is interacting with in a way that isn’t possible (yet) with video-based movies. Some predict holodecks that allow for this customization, which is all-important if the user will be physically interacting with the performer.
Supports HTC Vive and Oculus Rift on Windows.

Interesting technology and interesting results… surely towards adding a lot of realism

I am still trying to understand the whole concept, can you guys post a dedicated blog about all the details that how it works or if it is already posted, whats the title of that blog post?

That wasn’t supposed to be a direct reply. Whoops.

This looks neat, I’ll give it a try? But I only have Oculus, no Touch. Will I still be able to do anything with it?

Looks like you can get basic haptic feedback with Oculus, but more thorough interaction requires touch.
