VRPorn.com is pleased to announce that RockHardVR’s Premium WebXR experiences support hand tracking. All WebXR games with a raised fist symbol in the bottom left of the thumbnail feature interactive hand-tracking gameplay. Meta (Oculus) Quest and Quest 2 users are in for a special treat. Those newly liberated hands allow Jana and many others to react to your every stroke, matching her rhythm with yours. Hand tracking is also available in the public demo, so everyone can try this exciting new feature.
Hand tracking is not automatically activated, so we figured a simple explanation might be necessary for any newcomers not familiar with the hand tracking on the Quest / Quest 2. This clear step-by-step guide will have your hands doing the work in no time.
Part 1: Enabling Headset Hand Tracking
- Press the Meta/Oculus button on your right controller to pull up the universal menu.
- Open Quick Settings by selecting the left side of your universal menu where the time, battery life, and wifi connection are displayed.
- Select Settings at the top right of the Quick Settings menu.
- Select Movement Tracking.
- Enable “Hand and body tracking,” as well as “Auto-switch Between Hands or Controllers” using toggles: (Blue = On).
Part 2: Activating Hand Tracking in WebXR
- Start the game normally using standard controllers.
- Set the controllers down and look at your hands.
- Hand Tracking should now activate automatically.
Alternative Method: Swapping Hand-Tracking Manually
If enabling Auto Switch between hands and controllers is inconvenient for you, there is a workaround.
- Only Enable “Hand and body tracking.”
- Activate Hand Tracking using the Quick Settings menu.
- Launch the game.
- Select the VR icon using finger gestures to begin playing.
