Honey Select is a game made by the Japanese company Illusion. It’s all about creating your own virtual girlfriend from the ground up. Height, weight, skin tone, breast size, the list goes on and on and on.. Dressing them up in whatever outfit or lack thereof seems like a good idea, and then beast-fucking them.. There’s a company out there called Illusion. It’s a Japanese company and their products are not for sale or for export to America, so ordinarily a lot of us would be fucked, and not in a good way. BUT! There’s also this thing called E-bay, or Torrents. Is it worth $90 on E-bay? That’s up to you, but after the $200 Kiiroo Onyx fiasco, I’d say Honey Select is definitely worth more than the Onyx.. Now, I don’t condone piracy, but I’m also not saying I haven’t done it. although I do avoid it whenever possible. it’s the only way to get some old school classic games that I still have very fond memories of as the companies don’t exist or produce them anymore and I don’t have a floppy drive. I’m not going to tell you how to google torrents or search pirate bay. You can figure that out. To me, it’s a great way to try before you buy, which in this case, is exactly what I did.

Anyways, that’s the cover of the DVD for the “game”. Pretty descriptive with the camel-toe, nipples, outfit and all right? Anyways, the first thing we need to do is install the game, and since it’s in Japanese.. Things are a little different. Now, I can’t tell you where to get the game other than E-bay or some other legitimate source, but you’ll either figure it out or buy it like I did. After I figured it out.. I support good developers and worthwhile products. It keeps them coming out with new stuff. Like VRKanojo, which actually IS going to be released in the American market sometime this year.
Basic Installation for Honey Select.
Step 1. Start the install.
Step 2. Click N, it’s the button in the middle (Pretty counter-intuitive, I know, but apparently it’s Japanese for yes.. Or maybe it’s next? I don’t know…)
Step 3. Wait a few seconds.. (Okay, maybe a few minutes if you aren’t installing from a SSD to a SSD.) Also depends on if you have enough virtual drives to host both ISO’s and have to do a “disc change”.
Step 4. Click F
Your install directory should now look like this…
Yes, I could tell you how to swap disks in the middle of the install and click ok, but if you can’t figure that part out, please leave a comment. Seriously, after unintentionally deleting all my mod’s and girls just to make this guide, I need to feel smarter than someone.. Anyone? And you should now have the game installed. Unless you can read Japanese at this point, it really sucks to be you. So, rather than let you blindly stumble around trying to get stuff to work, we now go to HongFire for patches so we can do what we need to enjoy the game..
Forward Unto MODS!!!!
Okay, so maybe the Halo reference wasn’t quite that dramatic or impressive.. But yeah, this next part is VERY necessary. You’re going to need the following mods.
The basic Hongfire patch. A word of warning. If your video card is weak, do NOT download the EMF patch. It has 4K textures which will make the game run slow as hell if your computer can not handle it. It can be found HERE
MANDATORY HONGFIRE PATCH!
Why is this mandatory? Because.. Magic.. Look, seriously, this is pretty basic, it installs an English translation, gets rid of the Japanese uncensor, makes the dick and the pussy look right, adds in an unlocked save game, adds some more clothes, and few extra features, I have an 8GB GTX1070, the EMF patch with 4K textures works great on my card in VR. Now, you’ll notice both of these mod packs are EXE’s, not RAR’s or ZIPS. Just run it and let it do it’s thing. You won’t be disappointed.
After the Hongfire Patch, your directory should look like THIS.
Holy hell that escalated quickly… So yeah, there’s a TON of options. Here’s a quick rundown. Use the -32 EXE for any 32 bit operating system.. Come to think of it, if you’ve got a VR rig running a 32 bit OS, you really should send me all of your money.. God wants you to because you’re “special”… Anyways. Yeah, the -64’s are for the “normal people”, Not the special ones who rock.. Now, you’ll notice both HoneySelect and HoneyStudio. Studio is this really crazy thing where you can get into making poses and scenes and all sorts of other crazy shit. Pass on it unless you decide you want to learn some stuff and get really in to the game and learn about Inverse Kinematics and a whole bunch of other crazy stuff. You’ll also notice some “patched” exe’s. I typically run those and quit the game. Those are there to insure that a couple of patches install properly. The HF patch SHOULD have taken care of that, but I always double check just to be sure because I’ve been doing this a while and it’s an old habit.
And now, to make it run in VR!
So, there’s this guy, who’s made this program run in VR, and he deserves our silent respect and admiration for doing this, so take a moment to reflect on his contribution to society and the impact he’s about to have on your life. EusthEnoptEron is the man responsible for this incredible mod. He did it all on his own time and has asked nothing in return for it.
I strongly recommend you read the guide on the various controls and don’t flood the Hongfire forums with stupid questions. The guide on controls can be found here.
That being said, the actual VR patch for Honey Select can be found HERE!
As of the time this was written, the most current version is 0.4.2. The mod comes in a simple .zip file. Installation is simply drag and drop into the honey select directory. Your Honey Select directory should now look like THIS!
Note, the HoneySelect_64VR.exe That is the only executable you will ever really care to run anymore. You can make a link to this on your desktop or just keep it hidden. This is your gateway to room scale VR porn. If you have a Vive, it will automatically launch SteamVR and run. You will want to use the steam controllers as it allows you to “carry” the menus with you so you don’t have to run back to the menu to select something. If you read the directions, you should know how to drop, pick up, and change through the menus. Movement is your standard teleportation.
Other than that, practice with the touch-pads and learn how to adjust the “action speed” of whatever selected action you’re performing on the girls. You’ll notice a heart in the round thing in the lower right corner when you’re at the right “speed”. Once you hit that speed, you’ll see a pink bar start to build. Keep the speed right, and adjust it from time to time to keep that pink heart there, and eventually she’ll have an orgasm.

Seriously? Check out the hongfire forum. Browse around. There’s a ton of mods out there for this game. More clothes, more shoes, more toys, more locations, faces, teeth, hairstyles, etc. It takes a bit to find stuff, but the installs are “generally” as simple as downloading a zip file, opening it up and then copying the contents to the game directory. It really is pretty simple.

I’ve tried installing this multiple times…..every time I try to start it, the screen is white with a yellow cursor and I and hear the music….but nothing loads. Any help?
Possibly? Need a little info such as operating system, VR system, computer specs? The good news is that the game is launching and not crashing out, which tells me it may just be a small configuration setting somewhere.
I haven’t done the oculus rift patch yet, I am buying it in the next couple of days. I thought this game was playable outside of VR, but could be used within VR? I have a new computer coming this week I ordered, I’ll give you the specs of both.

Since I’m upgrading laptops a bit, I wanted to give this game a shot to get it up and running so I know what to do when my new computer gets here.
The game is most definitely playable outside of VR. That’s why the VR is a patch. As far as why it’s not working, I’d suggest the following. 1, Run the game as administrator. 2, try the different modes, HoneySelect_32.exe or HoneySelect_64.exe. 3, Also, maybe check your AppLocale settings, it is a Japanese game afterall. Google can help you a lot more with that than I can. Alternatively, you can always check the hongfire forums. Beyond that, I’m not sure what else to do. I know it works on Win 10 without any issues, so maybe put it on the new laptop anyways?

I could tell you yes it is, but then again, I also like sushi, fast cars, running down trees with my 4×4, and guns. You may not like those things or this game. What I will say is you can always find a cheaper copy on e-bay eventually. Or, you could probably find a place to download “a demo” through google or something. I really can’t explain how to use torrents on here, it’s against policy. 🙂 I’m sure you understand what I’m saying.
