Content is the obvious king when it comes to virtual reality and with the rapid advancements in VR technology, this is no longer a distant dream! At the recently held Samsung Developer Conference last week, the company announced its new 360 Round Camera which hosts some stunning hardware features and allows users to livestream 4k 3D VR content.
Samsung 360 Round – Design and Hardware
As per Samsung, the 360 Round Camera features a unibody design that helps reduce weight and makes it more compact. This design also helps to reduce the background noise and heat without the need for an additional cooling fan. The Samsung 360 Round Camera features a total of 17 lenses with one centered vertical lens and eight stereo pillar lenses that are aligned horizontally. All the lenses are IP65 certified which makes it dust and water resistant allowing it to operate in adverse conditions.
Additionally, the 360 Round has 6 internal microphones that capture 3D 360 videos and spatial audio. Using Samsung’s own software with one-step stitching, users can livestream 3D 360 videos up to 4,096 × 2,048 resolution at 30 FPS per eye. This seems to be a caveat as none of its modes support video capture that exceeds 30 FPS. Some VR headsets consider 60FPS a minimum requirement for viewing 360 videos.
Well, it seems that the Samsung 360 Round Camera can certainly give a big boost to the VR porn industry. It should make it much easier for hot chicks to livestream their performance, instantly giving their users a dose of virtual reality porn.
The price of the 360 Round is still not announced but it will certainly raise the competition in the 360 camera space amongst other established players like Yi Halo and GoPro. You can check out the detailed specs for the 360 Round below.

4k 3D livestreaming sounds really interesting… However, I would have appreciated 60FPS instead of 30FPS

Seems like a pretty convenient solution. Will have to see what the quality is actually like.
