
When a major competitor unveils a groundbreaking new product, it’s time to reassess the projects you have lined up. Apple announced its first entry into the VR and AR market with Apple Vision Pro, details of which immediately sent its staunchest rivals to alter plans and remain competitive. Priced at $3,500 USD, Apple Vision Pro may not tap into the general consumer market, instead aiming a little higher, and, as a result, there’s still a major portion of the market looking for a more affordable yet still powerful substitute. Samsung had previously announced that it was working on an XR device but now will be delaying its release to focus on a redesign.

Samsung’s XR glasses may not arrive in stores in 2023, but with a Qualcomm chip and significant support from Google, it’s likely to be an attractive option for anyone seeking a lighter, more casually wearable device than Apple Vision Pro or even Meta Quest Pro.
