This 8k ORIGINAL video is actually a 5k aka 6K 5760x2880 30fps 11Mb/s 858mb size Video but at AVC(h264) which can only be decoded by cpu resulting in choppy video for some. The Audio is correct at 48khz 320 kb/s on the ORIGINAL file(like 98% of original uploads and the WORLD standard). Here is an example where the 6k HEVC Transcode will play smoother and better. But also shows the VIDEO Transcode QUALITY is set too high for most 6k conversion and forced upscaling to 6144 resulting in double the File size with no gain in ACTUAL Video Quality. The 6K 6144 bit rate is now 30Mb/s versus 11Mb/s original. AVC (H264) to HEVC H265 should be typically about 10-30% reduction in file size per same file quality and resolution. BTW 5760x2880 is STANDARD "6K" at 2.0 aspect ratio NOT 6144x3072. However the Audio needs to be set to "PASSTHROUGH" as any conversion can cause possible sync and degradation issues. This saves NO DATA size at all, Maybe 1 to 2mb at most. On Multi gigabyte files this is just plain ridiculous to Compress audio. While I like the idea of compressing 8k 30gb original file sizes to 6K that are about half the size. It seems there should still be a choice of a 5k H265 more compressed version which is smaller in file size like the Previous site had choices of. Lastly the ORIGINAL upload needs to ALWAYS be a choice like before. Only some studios get this for Unknown reasons. Consider this technical input of value and way of thanks for the years of previous service VRPorn has provided. Please just at least fix the audio to PASSTHROUGH or original on all transcodes. Saves computing power too.
