While some VR consumers are still waiting for numerous promised Pimax devices to hit shelves, the ambitious Chinese VR hardware developer has announced a pair of new VR headsets in its Crystal line: Crystal Light and Crystal Super.
Light Speed VR
Pimax’s flagship headset, Pimax Crystal, is given a streamlined, more affordable makeover in Pimax Crystal Light. Dropping some significant features to cut down on both weight and price, Crystal Light will bring users a PC VR experience but remove the option for standalone use. Some of the features dropped to bring the price down to $700 and cut the weight by 30%, including eye-tracking, IPD adjustment, 60GHz wireless compatibility, one microphone, dynamic foveated rendering, and internal storage. Also gone is the Snapdragon XR2 chipset that drove the flagship Crystal headset.

VR Supersized
Pimax is already known for its impressive visual capabilities, and Pimax Crystal Super should cement that notion among VR consumers. Boosting the resolution of the standard Crystal to 3840×3840-per-eye, Crystal Super delivers what Pimax is calling a “significantly bigger field-of-view.” Users will be able to choose between two different lens sets for either 50 or 57 pixels-per-degree. Another option: 90Hz micro-OLED or 120Hz QLED & mini-LED displays.

Porn Goes Pro
Although Pimax Crystal Super is unlikely to be an obvious choice for your average VR porn consumer, Crystal Light very well could be. Both devices have merit when seen as vehicles for powerfully immersive VR sex experiences and demonstrate that the VR hardware market is all but stagnant.
Pimax Crystal Light and Pimax Crystal Super are now available for preorder and reservation.
These look bad-ass!!!
New devices aren’t coming down on price, that’s for sure.
