Unity has issued an alert about a security vulnerability that affects nearly all versions of Unity, including those used to build VaM1 and VaM2. They have provided a patching tool to address this issue, which is the fastest way to protect yourself against the vulnerability they mention.
You can read more about this on Unity's site:
https://unity.com/security/sept-2025-01
Note that the patching tool Unity provides could be used for other Unity-based applications and games you might have if those developers have not yet issued official patches.
MeshedVR will release an official VaM1 patch build and fixed VaM2 builds as soon as possible, so users won't have to manually apply the patch. In the meantime, please use the patcher tool as outlined below.
Instructions:
1 - You can download Unity's Patcher Tool Here - https://security-patches.unity.com/bc0977e0-21a9-4f6e-9414-4f44b242110a/unity-patcher/UnityApplicationPatcher-1.0.6-Win.zip
2- Unzip the zip above into a folder.
3- Run UnityApplicationPatcher.exe in that folder
4- Click the Windows tab
5- Click the Browse button, and navigate to your VaM1 or VaM2 install folder. In that folder you should see UnityPlayer.dll. Select that file and click Open.
6- Now click the blue Patch button.
7- If successful, you should see something like the image below

After the patch is complete, you can close the patching tool and run VaM1 or VaM2 as normal. Please patch all versions of VaM1 and VaM2 you are using.
