We at VRPorn.com have turned many people on to VR. We have hosted Meetups in cities around the world.
It’s been our experience that almost everybody who tries virtual reality walks away from the experience impressed. And many find that their minds have been blown. This is especially interesting considering that current VR is still at a rudimentary level compared to how it will be in a few years. It’s like comparing the first black and white tv’s to modern giant flat-screen HD tv’s.
We have been doing a lot of social VR on the Gear VR lately and it’s amazing talking to all of the new Gear VR users who didn’t even know what VR was one month ago. You hear tons of stories of how newcomers found their way to purchasing a Gear VR. For example, one girl explained how her friend showed her the Gear VR, and she immediately had to go out to buy one herself. Now, both girls are frequently online every evening hanging out in Oculus Social Alpha or VTime.
