What do we know so far about VR porn? Well, we established that it’s the pinnacle of the ongoing technological revolution, it’s a great way to enjoy different experiences alone or with your partner, and it can even improve the life of elders and people with disabilities.
This time however, we will discuss about one of the nastiest, most brutal, simply selfish and intrinsically-evil deeds humans can do: the action of rape.
Not only that it’s morally and ethically wrong in the sense that it forcefully takes away from victims the last bit of dignity, privacy and intimacy, but in every democratic and secular state governed by the rule of law, rape is ranked among the most blamed and massively disapproved crimes.
For the longest time, sex intercourse between human beings has been the result of a consensus between the parts involved and the reasons are nothing but natural. We’re human beings and we often feel certain urges: we get hungry and start looking for food; we get cold and start looking for clothes and shelter; we feel horny and look for an attractive person of the opposite sex to fulfill our sexual desires.
“Thou shalt not commit adultery”, says the seventh of the Ten Commandments (as presented in the King James version of The Holy Bible) – yet modern secular states have reached a consensus that the only immoral and illegal action is unwillingly submitting another human being to your perverted sexual desires. Cheating on your partner, experimenting with the same sex, or even engaging in sexual activities with multiple partners is completely fine in most democratic states. However, rape (and all of its abusive extensions, such as pedophilia) is condemned.
In essence, it’s that simple: if your sexual urges are very strong, you either find a partner who agrees to have sex with you, or you take matters into your own hands. There’s also a third option of remaining abstinent, but if we’re on a porn website then it’s pretty obvious that our willpower in terms of controlling our sexual urges is pretty weak. We watch porn alone and masturbate specifically for the purpose of keeping our minds and bodies in balance.
Had a long day? The boss is always on your nerves? Exam time is approaching and you haven’t prepared like you truly intended to? Are you craving for some intimacy but your modern busy life simply doesn’t leave room for somebody else to share you life with? Well, then you deserve to blow off steam with some dirty pornography.
However, studies and research conducted on 2D porn show that legalizing and spreading adult video productions significantly reduces rape rates.
That’s right, porn is really beneficial for our modern society. Does it reduce birth rates, make us feel lonelier and provide mere illusions of satisfaction? Well, maybe. But it doesn’t necessarily have to be enjoyed all alone and using the images in order to increase the enjoyment in a relationship is highly recommended.
But let’s get back on track: plenty of social scientists have asked the question “Does legalizing and spreading pornography truly reduce sex crime rates?”. It turns out that in the Czech Republic, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, Germany, Finland, Honk Kong, Sweden, and even the USA, legalizing porn has resulted in a decrease of sex offenses (in terms of both rape and child abuse). If you’re interested, you can check the study here.
Furthermore, a very recent article published by Psychology Today demonstrates with clear data and statistics that porn reduces sex assault rates! The publication mentions that since 1995, when internet porn first rose, US sex assault rate has dropped by 44 percent. And the statistics aren’t made up by some PhD student who seeks media attention: the evidence is the result of two decades of research by the US Justice Department.
This is really good news, as our society tends to progress towards a widespread opening in terms of sexuality. Internet porn is simply the greatest development in terms of spreading the product.
However, VR porn is even greater: and if such impressive results have been achieved by the boring, linear, non-interactive and pretty dull 2D porn, then I’m pretty sure that VR porn will bring more positive results for our society.
VR Porn is the most evolved kind of adult entertainment. Can it put an end to rape?
I feel really optimistic about the chances of VR technology to create a better, more decent and civilized society. If we can virtually simulate scenarios and life experiences we otherwise wouldn’t have, then we can definitely give these groundbreaking advancements an educational purpose.
People with a very high sex drive and very low morals, who would otherwise commit rape, are gradually finding their refuge in the digital paradise of pleasure internet porn. Once the word goes out and reaches their ears, it’s very likely that they will want to have the realistic simulation in their homes. Therefore, they will be able to put an end to their criminal urges and keep their irrational side in check. If Mr. Hyde can consume his energy within the comfort of his own household, then society will only see the gentle and well-mannered Dr. Jekyll.
If we, as a society, acknowledge that a very high libido and thoughts of rape can be tamed by safe and private simulations, then we might give a new chance to those of us who would otherwise get into trouble by forcefully getting his or her desired sexual satisfaction. I’m no neurosurgeon or psychologist, but I like to think that I’m mature enough to understand other people and try to address their problems objectively, without a judgemental bias.
Accordingly, I think that special clinics with VR technology should be set up for sex addicts and even rapists. Yes, we can give them pills and injections, and there’s also the more extreme way of chemically castrating the dangerous individuals.
However, if we taught these troubled people to resolve their problems in private with a VR headset, then our society at large would most likely benefit. Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) should definitely consider supporting this cause in order to provide virtual sex for potential or already-convicted sex criminals. Though their deeds and thoughts are subject for public disapproval and condemnation, virtual reality technology has the potential to solve their issues.
I really don’t care if what they have is a mental disease or just a chemical issue regarding high concentrations of sex hormones. What really matters is that these people can get a second chance to become useful and decent members of our society. You can only masturbate to your fantasies a few times a day and I’m pretty sure that the rapists wouldn’t commit an illegal act if they knew that once they get home and enter the privacy of their bedrooms, they can fulfill every fantasy they can think of.

I am interested in VR in any form being a breakthrough technology for the study of the minds of people who are compelled to harm others.

Can’t say much, this is a hard issue to talk about.

Yeah this is a controversial topic. But I think it’s pretty clear that energy satisfied with porn prevents more extreme behavior from that fringe of people who would harm others.
