Halloween, also known in Western Christian countries as All Hallow’s Day, is traditionally a time of the year when the dead, the martyrs, and even the saints (hallows) are remembered and celebrated. On the other side of the debate, there are those who embrace the trick or treating without being aware of its meaning and purpose. Thankfully, the film that we are about to scrutinize is an obscure gem from 2015 that isn’t afraid to take risks and try to innovate.

That’s right, we have a release that predates the commercial launches of the Oculus, the Vive, and the PSVR, and which actually recommends the use of a lower resolution VR cardboard device. We’re talking about a time when studios were still starting out, there still wasn’t a framework or pattern to follow for successful results, and the reduced competition allowed for more creative exploration of what would ultimately get turned into a genre.
VirtualRealPorn happened to be at the avant-garde of the virtual reality revolution, and they created an excellent Halloween narrative that draws inspiration from slasher horror films like Scream, Halloween (the film), and Friday The 13th. It returns to the original Christian-European roots of the celebration and implies that the spirits of the dead once again interfere with the affairs of the mortals, but sexualizes everything and turns it into an experience that masterfully blends horror and lustful hardcore action. So, is this brief hype enough of a reason to want you to check out this 2-year-old release?

Now this is where it gets trippy, scary, and confusing: the darkness bothers Harmony Reigns so much that she once again leaves the room to check out the fuse, and the lady ghost takes advantage of this opportunity to get even closer to you, threaten you with a huge knife that will send shivers down your spine, and then get down on her knees to suck on your somehow still-erect penis. The ghost could have harmed you, but she decided to show that she wants you instead. Now that’s a whole different level of haunting people!

Two years ago when it was released, this would have been a perfect 10. The atmosphere is absolutely incredible and I don’t recall seeing anything like this. If you ask me, “Halloween Special” is truly deserving of the “VR experience” label, as it transcends genres and manages to offer a sexual debauchery that’s permanently surrounded by fright, fear, mystery, and uncertainty. One moment you’re having some quality time with your girlfriend, and then the lights go out and a ghost lady expresses her interest in you.

Much like in every slasher film, ladies who have sex get punished. You can think of Lyna Nilsson’s character as a horny Jason Voorhees type. She kills the lady who’s having an orgasm and takes advantage of her boyfriend by confusing him with mind games. The latter is a well-established norm in most of the releases of the time, and it took the producers some time until they discovered how to implement missionary and doggy style.

But then again, this is a 5-minute mind blower that serves its purpose just right. It’s short, it’s concise, it tells a complete story, and accomplishes much more than a lot of 30-minute films. The acting is perfect, the blackouts can genuinely get you scared, and the special effects are enough to give you chills. The moment you see Lynna’s ghost, you will most definitely jump off your seat.
Last and not least, the ending is just perfect. It leaves you with plenty of unanswered questions, it further raises the tension, and forces you to enjoy sex with an otherwise gorgeous woman but still miss your beloved Harmony Reigns. The editing makes the final 30 seconds really creepy, and the producers from VirtualRealPorn deserve all the praise in the world.
So if you’re sick of Halloween films that seem to be all about silly costumes and no solid narrative, then this is your flick. “Halloween Special” is perhaps the best 5-minute virtual reality porn that you can watch to get your fix. Oh, and let me end this review with a fact: none of the actresses get completely naked, yet this is still as arousing as can be. How many releases can make such claims?
