Weeview just released a new VR video camera that aims to make 3D video production more accessible.
The Weeview SID 3D Camera
The Weeview SID 3D camera is one of the first cameras to provide an all-in-one solution for VR video creators. It’s a budget-friendly way for videographers to record true stereoscopic video. The camera records at a resolution of 2880×1440 and can shoot up to 30 FPS (frames per second). The maximum field of view is 160°.
The main difference between the SID 3D camera and the competition is that the Weeview produces true VR video. This is in contrast to the dozens of other consumer-grade devices that market themselves as “VR” cameras but only offer 2D video in 360°.
Features
In addition to 3D video recording, the Weeview has other useful features that include a photo mode and built-in wifi.
The wifi connection is especially useful since it lets you use your phone as an external video monitor. It also allows for remote camera operation, live streaming, and social media sharing.
Design
The device weighs just above 2 ounces and fits neatly in your pocket. Despite its small size, the camera boasts a robust 1300 mAh battery that’s capable of 2.5 hours of continuous shooting. For storage, the camera has a micro SD card slot for storage (the card is sold separately).

Weeview offers two different packages when it comes to the SID 3D Camera. The first includes the camera body and charger. The second is called the “Cinematic Kit.”

There are compromises when it comes to resolution and frame rate, but the product is surprisingly polished for the price.
