What Do Women Think Of VR Porn?
We know lots of guys are watching porn on their VR headsets. But what about the ladies? Are women getting interested in this new form of adult entertainment? And if so, just what type of material are they watching?
Just The Numbers
Recently, there have been a couple interesting studies that may shed some light on these questions. Let’s start by mentioning some basic statistics. The number of women who use virtual reality in general is significantly less than the number of men. Rough estimates suggest that somewhere between 20-30 percent of HMD (head-mounted display) users are women. The reasons for this technological gap are uncertain and it’s not the purpose of this article to speculate as to why this divide exists. What these numbers do suggest, however, is that women tend to be less intrigued by VR technology in general and therefore we can expect this trend to extend into virtual reality porn as well. If fewer women are using VR headsets, then it’s safe to assume fewer women will be watching VR porn.
Rough Estimates
While specific numbers regarding the number of VR porn searches being conducted by women have yet to be disclosed, we do have numbers indicating just how many women are watching porn in general. In the majority of Western countries, it’s now been revealed that around 1/3rd of women watch porn regularly. If we combine this knowledge with what we know about women’s VR adoption rates, we can sketch a basic picture of just how many VR porn users are women.
Although these numbers are just rough estimates, this information definitely suggests that a sizeable portion of the VR porn audience are females.
Women Are Different?
As with most social issues, it’s always difficult to lump the opinions of a single demographic into a narrow category. But one undeniable trend that researchers discovered was that women tended to be more skeptical of VR technology than their male counterparts. According to a survey of 2,000 people commissioned by Invest Bristol & Bath, 47% of women were worried about the impact of VR on family and mental health, while only 39% of men were worried about the same issues. This was despite the fact that an overwhelming majority of women (69%) believed that VR would have a positive impact on their lives.
Mixed Bag Of Emotions
What this suggests is that women tend to have mixed feelings about VR and many are holding off judgment until they see just what sort of impact it has on their lives. Only time will tell what virtual reality porn will do to our relationships once it becomes truly mainstream but one thing is certain – women will continue to play a huge role in the consumer market as VR evolves and their tastes are going to help shape the future of this technology more than many realize.

Probably the slow adoption amongst females might be a reason that VR Porn creating studios are more inclined towards producing more male POV content than the female POV…. Moreover, when computers were new, people were skeptical that they could damage eyes and cause strain… But with improvisation in technology, the notion changed and so could be the case with VR too!!

Truer words cannot be spoken. Men are different, but women tend to have more variety. And I guess you’re right, until most women try vr porn, we can’t say and conclude for sure.
