Im assuming 60fps rendering would take a significantly longer duration but damn how nice it would be..

Gotta love it when you can see everything. Widowmaker is always a treat.

I just love how the bed moves too… creates a more immersive experience, others should learn from this!

YESS missionary finally I love it great work, thank you so much

Hi banana, always love some Widowmaker. Sorry if this was asked before, but do you have any plans to render your animations in 6K? When I watch your vids on quest 2 even on Max 4K I get some fuzzy bits/video artifacts. Thanks as always for your work.

I think it’s really about their bitrate. You can cover full 1:1 pixel (approx) on a Quest 2 by making a 4k video (2k screen * 180/90 = 4k vertically). But doing an uncompressed video means hefty amount.
I checked other creator where they create clip at similar duration as his, but 5x the size (so ~1GB). And his 4k is better, but not significantly (and IMO not worth the 5x size).
secmess says
Whoops, I was mistaken, 4k for the video is the horizontal resolution (and only 2k vertically). So yeah, it’s only half the resolution of Quest 2.

I think the quest 2 per-eye resolution is 1832×1920 (index is 1440×1600). Mine are rendered at 4000×2000, so 2000×2000 per eye (maybe I’m misunderstanding something really important here!).
I want to do 6k, or even 8k, but I’m limited by render times. I think I’d need to spend an additional few hundred a month on upgrading the render farm service I use to have them complete in a reasonable time (more time per frame allowed, and more frames rendering at once).
As for the fuzzy bits, I think thats the bitrate, which I limit to not cause the file sizes go overboard. The majority of my animations have a two loop (usually 20 seconds) version with a higher bitrate on my Patreon but often the difference is usually negligible and the artefacts are still often there there. I’ll do some more testing and I’ll see if I can get more clarity and crispness, even in shadowy areas/low lit ones.
